Invitation Exercise
For this assignment, we were tasked with designing an invitation to an event with no more than two colors and only using text. I chose to design Blair Waldorf's thirty-third birthday party. I took inspiration from Blair's personality in the show Gossip Girl and made it look elevated but still fun. I utilized a soft pink color and brighter red to contrast each other and communicate a theme of girly fun. I also chose a script font for her name and age to make it stand out so the audience's eyes would be drawn toward that first. The script font also has good contrast against the plain font I used for the event details. I chose the right alignment to make it look more interesting. To make the age stand out even more I made it left aligned and bigger.
